Description
An exceptional vintage allowed the grapes to reach full ripeness, yielding just a touch under 2 tonnes per acre.
10 days fermenting on skins with 25% whole bunches before being aged in French oak (20% new) for 14 months.
Ripe red fruits make their presence known underneath immediate savoury layers. Soft tannins, decidedly medium-bodied, with great concentration and length.
Will age well over the medium term.
2020 Halliday Wine Companion –
Classically medium-weight Hunter shiraz showing red and black fruit with a little influence from the oak. Fresh and juicy on the palate, there’s also some fullness of texture and the light but persistent astringency contributes to the structure and firmness of finish.
